Finding the perfect Play-by
OK, so an increasing problem in RP’s is people picking unrealistic PB’s, or play-by’s, for their character. So I have compiled a few basic tips on how to avoid the dreaded trap of picking a Play-by that makes people want to vomit, or one that looks so dreadfully unlike your character people are repeatedly going to your application just to check your eye colour, or hair length. This is process takes time, though, sometimes hours, sometimes minutes, just don’t expect instant PB-ness, OK?
Part 1. Writing an Appearance
Whilst this guide isn’t on how to write an appearance I will give you this one tip: write your appearance how you want your character to look, not how the super-hot PB you just found looks. All the time picturing how you would like the PB to look, even act. Such as, finding a picture of your meek character’s chosen PB singing a high-pitched opera wouldn’t work, would it? Finding a picture of your chosen PB with their hand over a camera lens would make sense. Also, remember genetics. A brown haired father means a brown haired baby, but a brown haired mother and father with the mother having blue eyes and the father brown would result in hazel and also: red hair is a mutation, it can be passed down but it can also happen with parents of any two other hair colours..
Part 2. Picture the PB
Remember, though, that not all moustachioed characters are Johnny Depp. Not all chubby faced teens are Pete Wentz. Angelina Jolie, regardless of how much you like her, is not the only voluptuous middle-aged woman out there, try looking for out-of-the-ordinary PB’s.
Part 3. Find the PB
So, now you’ve considered the models appearance you can start searching. Just type “model ” or “actor” in to Google, you’ll be amazed at what you get, there are even several very good unsigned models who you can use or multiple looking-for-work actors who have there face posted all over the web. Try to refrain from searches of things like “sexy model” or “hot actor” as these can bring in porn sites and viruses to your computer.
Part 4. Enjoy your RP.
Now you’ve done all three steps above your free to begin RPing with your new character. If the site you were going to apply to has that PB taken then simply go over the steps again, this time maybe tweaking a few things like weight, or really considering it.
