I‘m over it You see I‘m falling in the vast abyss~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Faith awoke with a start, claws extended and beads of seat dripping down her brown. It was another one of her nightmares that told her just how bad her life had been. They seem to be getting more intense and frequent as of late. She sat up and swung her feet over the side of her bed, and place her face in her hands. She looked over to her room mates to see if she had woke them. She listened to their deep breaths, and lowered heartbeats. She sighed heavily, but not loud enough to wake anyone up. She put on some footwear, even though she would be able to go without. Last time she did that, she had the other student’s look at her like she was crazy.
She had been at the Institute for a few days, and wondered how long it would be before her owners found her and this place. She shook her head of the thought, and decided not to dwell on it at that moment. Instead she made her way to the kitchen, just like she did every night after waking up from one of her nightmares. She soon found out that she wasn’t the only one who couldn't sleep at night, but she doubt that they shared her dreams. She was perhaps the only one who could kill just as fast as she would think it, and the target wouldn’t know what hit them. She was government trained, and everyone knows they had the best training available.
She entered the kitchen on autopilot, and automatically went to the refrigerator. She opened it and peered inside looking for something to settle her nerves. The milk and juice just didn’t seem too appeasing to her, so she shut it back. She then went over to the cabinet where she knew that the soda was kept, and grabbed a bottle. She then got a glass down and filled it with ice before pouring her drink over it. Before she knew it, she was setting on the other side of the bar from the entrance to the room nursing her drink. So far she was the only one up and around the place, but she knew that could change any moment. “Speaking…” ‘Thinking…’ ”Other person talking…” ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Clouded by memories of the past At least, I see TIME :: Dead of the night TAG :: Open WORDS :: 374 NOTES :: Someone seems to have trouble sleeping… STATUS :: Done CREDIT :: LYCAN!!

She'd spent the night falling in and out of sleep, in and out of dreams. The dreams weren't hers alone. No, some of them were what she were sure were some of Kurt's memories. Cheering crowds, flying trapezes, people with different shades of hairs in every color imaginable. Oh, and let's not forget the German language. There was a name that rang through the memories, one she didn't know, one that was only a glimpse. Stefan. After the final dream, she'd awoken with a start and was breathing heavily.
It was dark, the mansion was quiet. She was alone in her room. Sitting up in bed, she rubbed her eyes and ran her fingers through her hair. It had to be late, but she had no way of knowing for sure, given the fact that she'd accidentally turned her last alarm clock into an exploding object. All she knew is, she needed a drink - a very strong one. And, with that thought, she disappeared from her room.
A puff of purple smoke appeared in one corner of the kitchen as Amber appeared on top of the fridge. One arm was outstretched and she was feeling along the top of the cabinets for the spot where she held one of her many stashes. "Come on, liebschen," she murmured, "Come to Amber." What she didn't realize, though, was that she wasn't alone. In her attempt to find her hidden bottle of Jägermeister, someone had entered the kitchen. Finally, after a couple moments of searching blindly, she felt the bottle. "Ah ha! There you are!" she exclaimed lowly as she withdrew the bottle from the shadows and pulled the cap open.
Turning herself around so that her legs were dangling over the freezer door of the refrigerator, bottle raised to her lips, she froze. "Ach.. Spotted," she groaned, "Look, I'll give you a shot if you don't up und spill the beans about this stash. Deal?" Hearing her own words, she shuttered inwardly. How much longer til Kurt's German accent, words, memories and power faded from her entirely? The teleporting she could handle, but most certainly not the constant hearing of German coming from her own mouth.
Wait a tick..
She peered more closely into the shadows and at the girl. She looked familiar. "Do I know you, meine Freundin?"

I‘m over it You see I‘m falling in the vast abyss~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Faith didn‘t even show any signs of being surprised. Of course she was surprised as she didn‘t think anyone was up yet. She was usually the first to do so. The horrors of her past were to thank for that. She sighed silently as she emptied her glass in front of her. She could tell that the other girl, whose name was Amber, had a German accent. Somehow she knew that it wasn‘t natural, even if it did sound like it was. She only looked up to see the Amber pull a bottle or liquor out from a hiding place, and announced that she was spotted.
"Look, I'll give you a shot if you don't up und spill the beans about this stash. Deal?"
She shook her head in answer. ”I won‘t tell your secret, but alcohol has no effect on me.” She explained as she remembered the test the scientists had performed on her to see what compounds affected her. They found nothing can, and decided to just use magnetism manipulation on her to make her comply. She never broke the same rule twice. She then took a closer look at the girl and something was nagging at the back of her mind about Amber.
"Do I know you, meine Freundin?"
Faith shrugged her shoulders, and then looked at Amber closer. She sniffed and nodded her head as if confirming something for herself. ”You smell of government experiments.” She answered and clenched her fist. Three long metallic shiny claws extended to show Amber that she was a product of government interference. She relaxed her fist and sheathed her claws back into her forearm. She most likely knew there would be questions, but she wondered if she would be able to answer them. “Speaking…” ‘Thinking…’ ”Other person talking…” ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Clouded by memories of the past At least, I see TIME :: Dead of night TAG :: Amber, open WORDS :: 293 NOTES :: Do they know each other? Well, at least she didn't have to share. With a shrug, she took a sip from the bottle and leaned back against the cabinets, her green eyes focused down at the girl below her. "Thank you," she said, "for not telling. My luck Scott or Ororo would do a mansion sweep, all while Xavier peered into my skull to locate other stashes." She wrinkled her nose at the thought. How she hated telepathics. Damn people always peered into the brains and thoughts of others. So much for a right to privacy..
As she took another sip, she watched the girl extend three claws. Instead of being surprised, she simply raised an eyebrow and remained silent, taking the occasional nip of alcohol. She wasn't an alcoholic, she just felt the need to relax once in a while. This night, with the dreams and memories that didn't belong to her, was definitely a night where she needed to relax. "Ah, so that's why you look familiar," she said finally. Bottle in hand, she slipped down off the fridge, disappearing and reappearing in a puff of smoke.
"You must be the one I heard about, the favorite of the complex." She sounded so casual as she spoke, unafraid. "Question is, fraulein, why are you here? I'm assuming you got tired of being kept as a pet, too?" Keeping her eyes on the girl before her, she screwed the cap onto the bottle and crossed her arms over her chest, the bottle carefully tucked in the crook of her arm. "I'm Amber. Or, as they called me, EMTS-600. Kinetic manipulation, advanced power and memory absorption and, now, shapeshifting."

I‘m over it You see I‘m falling in the vast abyss~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Faith only nodded her head in understanding at the school shakedown and the Professor meddling in the mind. She had already had that happen to her when she got there a few days ago. Logan still had her file, and she hadn‘t seen him since the trap in the Salem Center. Cally was the one who had brought her here, and the Professor seemed to think it wise to keep her close. She knew that he knew what she was capable of, and she wondered if it was because he allowed her to stay so that he can keep a close eye on her.
She watched as Amber came down off the top of the refrigerator and teleported briefly out of sight in a puff of dark colored smoke. So she was known at the complex, after all her handlers had told her that she was their employer‘s pride and joy. Her jaw muscle twitched as Amber brought up the place she had just escaped from. She needed to get a lid on her anger before she destroys the kitchen…
"You must be the one I heard about, the favorite of the complex. ... Question is, fraulein, why are you here? I'm assuming you got tired of being kept as a pet, too?"
”Yeah, that is me. The pride and joy of that hell hole. As for why I‘m here, I got tired of doing their killing. I got tired of being treated like shit.” Faith answered as her training kicked and she shut up about her past. If Amber knew what it was like, then why ask why she was there? She shook her head to clear the thought from her mind. It wasn‘t her problem, yet.
"I'm Amber. Or, as they called me, EMTS-600. Kinetic manipulation, advanced power and memory absorption and, now, shapeshifting."
She got to her feet, walked over to the cabinet and got another soda. She then walked over to the fridge and refilled the glass with ice before sitting back down in her spot at the bar. ”Well Amber, I‘m Faith. More likely known as Lycan. Accelerated healing, superhuman senses, strength, agility, stamina, reflexes, longevity, retractable claws laced with adamantium, skeleton infused with adamantium, night vision, and superhuman tracking. Basically the perfect assassin based off of the original Weapon X.” She replied and took a long pull from her soda. “Speaking…” ‘Thinking…’ ”Other person talking…” ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Clouded by memories of the past At least, I see TIME :: Dead of night TAG :: Amber, open WORDS :: 396 NOTES :: Not much of talker is she? Noting the way she shut up pretty quickly about the place, Amber couldn't help but feel that she'd hit a sore spot. Then again, it was understandable. She simply nodded, implying that she understood well enough. She moved away from the fridge when Faith moved to it and waited for her to get what she wanted from it, before fishing out a red bull for herself. Setting the can and bottle down on the counter, she fished out her own glass and proceeded to make herself a Jagerbomb.
"You're the perfect assassin, I'm the perfect spy. At least, now I am," she said bitterly as she sat down next to Faith, then sighed. "Only reason I got out of there was because of the ability to get the access codes and absorb some other kid's power. That was.." she paused, thinking it over as she wrapped her hand around her glass, "probably just after Christmas." With a sigh, she took a long drink from the glass, then smiled weakly. "At least we're safe here. For now.."
She fell into silence as she looked down at her drink. What would happen if the Government did decide to come after them finally? A pang of guilt hit her and she closed her eyes. She felt like she should go back on the run, just to keep the students safe, to keep Kurt safe. Question is, was that really the best way to handle things? Running from one's past didn't always do much good. No, she had to stay. She tilted her head to the side, popping her neck back into place before she smiled faintly, "well, at least you and I can always talk to each other about it. That is, if you ever feel like it."

I‘m over it You see I‘m falling in the vast abyss~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Faith continued to nurse her drink as she let her thought trail to Alexis. She wondered what the girl was up to, and if she was all right. She smiled slightly as she knew where her sister was at that moment. Her mind was all over the place, but a part of her kept an alert on her surrounding just like she was trained to do. No one has ever snuck up on her, not even during training sessions…

She took another sip in order to buy herself some time before replying. ”I had to fight my way out with another experiment. That was only a few weeks ago.” She finally said and took another drink from her glass, and nodded her head in answer to it being safe for the time being. She too went back to her stony silence as she thought of what she would do if the government came knocking to take them back to the facility. She would most likely would end up fighting them and taking as many down with her. It was in her blood, her DNA, her design. It was what she was built for.
"well, at least you and I can always talk to each other about it. That is, if you ever feel like it."
Faith only nodded her head and took another sip from her drink. ”Thanks, but I rather try to forget the whole thing. The whole feelings thing isn‘t me.” She answered and drained her glass. She needed an outlet, she needed to move, and remembered that Cally had mentioned a room that allowed someone to train and not injure anything in the process. ”Do you know where the Danger Room is? Most importantly, how to get there?” She finally asked as she put away her glass and threw the trash into the trashcan. Perhaps a few rounds with a near real holographic imagine is what she needs to keep her mind off of her past. “Speaking…” ‘Thinking…’ ”Other person talking…” ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Clouded by memories of the past At least, I see TIME :: Dead of the night TAG :: Amber, open WORDS :: 381 NOTES :: Seems she needs to knock a few head together, even if they are not real… STATUS :: Done CREDIT :: LYCAN!!

Okay, well, she seemed to be saying nothing but the wrong things tonight. So, with that thought in mind, she went silent and sipped her drink. So, that made three experiments that had made their way out of the complex. 'I wonder how the government's handling that idea,' she wondered to herself. More than likely not well, and chances were that they'd stepped up security quite a bit since. After all, no one should have been able to escape the complex.
Upon hearing talk, she simply nodded at her. She certainly wasn't going to force her to talk about it, it wasn't her style. Leaning her head in her hand, she closed her eyes. Despite feeling tired, she knew there was no point in trying to go back to sleep. Even the Red Bull didn't seem to have much of an effect on energizing her. What she wouldn't have given at that moment just to have six shots of espresso.
"Do you know where the danger room is? Most importantly, how to get there?"
Well, that made Amber look up. "Yep. I'll show you," she said and drained the rest of her drink down. Sliding off the stool, she deposited the glass in the dishwasher and put her bottle back into its hiding place. "Follow me." With that, she exited the kitchen and made her way down the hallway. Given how late it was, the danger room would be empty. She pressed the button for the elevator and waited for it to open, then waited inside for Faith before pushing the button for the sub-basement. --------Time: Dead of night Tag: Faith, open Words: 265 Notes: Ignore any and all previous remarks about being done for this thread. I‘m over it You see I‘m falling in the vast abyss~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Faith was just about to go look for the room herself, when Amber said she sure did. She waited just outside of the kitchen door and listened to her surroundings. She heard the birds chirping outside with the crickets chirping as well. She automatically sniffed the air and deemed it safe for now, but she knew that could change at any moment. She couldn‘t even begin to count the times the government almost caught her before she ran into her father and Cally in town. If it weren‘t for her sensitive hearing and smell, she would have been back at the complex.
”Follow me.”
She heard Amber say as she exited the kitchen and made her way to a part of the building that she had entered when she arrived. She remembered that Cally had insisted that the medical staff look her over when she got here. Even though she protested that she was fine. They took x-rays and blood work, and found that she was forced to stop growing and that the metal alloy, adamantium, was infused with her whole skeletal system. Even the pretty red haired lady doctor mentioned that it was so much like Logan‘s own film images.
When they were done with Faith in the medical wing, they then ushered her up to the school and into a room with a few other female students. She shook her head to rid herself of that part, and concentrated on following Amber. She had noticed that the two of them had arrived at the elevator and were going back down into the sub-basement. She automatically sniffed the air again and gave herself a slight nod. They were still alone for the time being. She hoped that they would stay that way for a few hours. When the elevator finally stopped and the door opened, she shot out not liking to be in an enclosed space. She waited for Amber just outside of the car. ”Which way now?” She asked and gestured for her to continue to lead the way. “Speaking…” ‘Thinking…’ ”Other person talking…” ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Clouded by memories of the past At least, I see TIME :: Dead of the night TAG :: Amber, open WORDS :: 341 NOTES :: Seems she needs to knock a few heads together, even if they are not real… STATUS :: Done CREDIT :: LYCAN!!
