Sledding.. In school?!

Monday. Amber and Melodi had decided to pull their newest prank on a Monday. It'd freshly snowed the night before, leaving two inches on the ground, which made Melodi more determined than anything to pull off the prank. Unfortunately, though, Draven hadn't a clue as to what they were planning. They'd simply told him that they were going to play hooky and go sledding. Well, it wasn't a lie, they really were going sledding. Where, though, they left out. Melodi had a large sled gripped in her hand, and Amber had her hands placed on Melodi and Draven's shoulders. "And.. We're off!" Amber called to them, and, with that, the three disappeared in a puff of purple smoke.

Having a teleporter for a boyfriend made life so much easier. No need for a car, and it would be easy to make an escape if something went wrong with the prank, which, let's be honest, was pretty much a guarantee.

Now, it's needless to say that Draven was thoroughly confused when they appeared within the dead hallways of his old high school. After the way that he'd been treated by his twin, and the fact that the mutant squad had been called on him, Amber and Melodi felt it was their duty to protect their little empath. "Uh.. I thought we were going sledding?[/color]" Draven asked, his voice barely a whisper. Melodi looked at Draven as she dropped the sled onto the floor of the hallway and grinned at him. "We are.[/color]" Amber nodded in agreement with Melodi, and Draven knitted his eyebrows together in confusion. "There's no snow here..[/color]"

"Ah! But there doesn't need to be any when you have me with you![/color]" Melodi responded, her silver-like eyes sparkling mischievously as she gazed at Draven. So, with that, she jumped onto the sled and patted the spot behind her for Draven to climb on. One would think that he would want nothing more than to get the hell out of there, and, trust me, he did, however his curious nature, and his love for pranks, won over. He climbed onto the sled and wrapped his arms around Melodi's slender waist while Amber stuck a sign onto a long stick and glued it in place. A photo hung from it, and there was a boom box bungee corded to the back of the sled.

"All systems are a go, Mel," she said as she put an arm around Draven's waist. "Then hit it, woman![/color]" Melodi promptly responded, holding an index finger up in the air above. "I really don't think this is a good idea,[/color]" Draven said half-heartedly, which elicited a pat on the head by Amber, which, in turn, elicited a growl from Draven. After a set of three Santa hats were put on, Amber hit the play button on the boom box. Within moments a long patch of ice started forming down the hallway. What was Melodi doing? Why, creating a pathway for the sled, of course! Complete with bumps that would cause the sled to be briefly airborne, ice ramps to go around corners, and loops. The bell sounded for everyone to go to lunch, and the sled took off as students piled into the hallways.

What music was playing, you ask? Simple. You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch, from the latest episode of GLEE. Amber was a sucker for Glee, and it suited the sign on the back of the sled so well. The boom box blared as they rode through the hallways, laughter just barely above the volume of the music coming from the girls, while screams were coming from Draven. "Why did I let you two talk me into this?![/color]" he yelled and then shrieked when they hit a bump. "Because we're fun and you love us! Hey! You, cheerleader! MOVE IT![/color]" Melodi yelled, which caused the cheerleader to scramble out of the way, causing Amber to laugh and let out a long 'WOO HOO!' as they slid right past Erik.

Algebra, his least favorite and least successful subject, combined with a Monday, his least favorite day of the week, plus a test right before lunch; Erik was having a bad day all around. It was made no better by the ceaseless yammering that Renee was spouting about the winter formal and the upcoming Christmas holidays. He supposed he’d have to buy her something sparkly with the meager income he was making from the café. Maybe he’d break it off with her before the holidays but after the formal just to avoid spending the money on jewelry. He’d need to take her to the formal since they already had a matching tux and dress. Afterwards was all free though.

It was with this plan in mind that he was thinking he could stomach the rest of the day when the door to the hallway opened from Algebra into what seemed to be a winter wonderland... Christmas carols and all. The tune of ‘you’re a mean on Mr. Grinch” was playing, he was sure of it, below the deafening screeches and shrill screams coming from the masses which surrounded the icy patch which was at one time the hallway. There were embankments and little jumps and everything. Much planning went into this and that was when the sled actually started closer and Carly fell into the path. She scrambled out of the way quickly enough once she was hollered at. Two females and…. The mutant Draven were on the sled with a flag on the back with a pretty good likeness of himself in grinch attire. It was hardly appropriate since he was usually pretty jolly about Christmas. It was hurtful but shallow and childish much like him spilling the crumbs. Far worse had happened.

Carly almost getting run over gave Erik an idea though and he looked at Renee in front of him with a smirk. Pay back. He gave the head cheerleader a shove as the sled went by hoping that she would at least crash into one of the mutants and have to sit in a containment cell for the next 24 hours. Otherwise there was nothing to do about it but start chipping at the iceledge in front of him and start hucking the poorly made ice-balls first at the retreating sled and second at the football team members. Soon enough there was a free-for-all ice-ball fight right there in the hallway of the school. The fire alarm was sounded and the sprinklers started going off causing an en-mass evacuation.

And crash into one of the mutants Renee did! Amber, to be exact. "Ow! Hey! Get your own sled!" Amber hollered and shoved the girl off her, leaving her lying on the ice. As the sled went sliding past Erik, Draven blanched for a moment upon seeing his twin. However, upon hitting a slight turn, Draven started laughing instead of shrieking. Amber and Melodi definitely knew how to cheer him up, and this was definitely one of the better ways. The only thing that could make it better would be if Erik was joining in on the mischief. He turned his head, looking behind them as the rounded a corner.

Before promptly being hit by a poorly made ice-ball in the face, he saw Erik chuck said snowball towards them. "Hey! Not the face! That's my meal ticket![/color]" he yelled over the screams of the students back toward Erik. Melodi, on the other hand, was driving the sled. "Hold onto your knickers, kids! I'm turning this thing around[/color]" As they came up on the loop-de-loop, a road of ice changed the construction to shoot them back down the same hallway. Amber wrapped her legs around Draven's waist and started packing snowballs by gathering the shaved ice within her hands. "Cold! Cold! Very cold! Should have worn gloves!" she said as she quickly formed one and passed it to Erik, then created one for herself, followed by multiple more.

A large ramp formed ahead as the sled went hurtling ahead, the speed increased thanks to the loop that Melodi had created. With the snowballs cradled in her and Draven's laps, the balls went flying left and right. The first one landed on a jock, courtesy of Draven, and another one landed on a cheerleader, courtesy of Amber. Finally, though, Draven lifted the snowball and grinned as they once more passed Erik. "Oh, Erik,[/color]" he called out before throwing it directly at Erik. A smug smirk played on his face, laughter playing in his eyes.

And then.. Out came a teacher. They were squawking on about how the behavior of the students was going to land them in detention and demanding to know where all the ice had come from. Before the Algebra teacher could even get the words out about calling the principal and security, they were pummeled with a large amount of snowballs, from mutants and students alike. The group howled with laughter as they raced down the icy halls.
