Faith awoke with a start, claws extended and beads of sweat dripping down her brow. It was the same nightmare of how she got her shiny claws. She looked around her room in a daze before she realized that it was only a dream. She sat up, put her head in her hands with her claws still out. She sat like that for a bit, and then got to her feet and went over to the sink to splash some cold water over her face. It helped dim the memory of the dream. She then dried her face.

She then walked over to the wall and tapped on it with her claws in Morse code. She was talking to the girl in the next cell. She was talking to Alexis. She often thought of the younger girl, if only by a month or two, as a little sister. Even if the two of them had no genetic material in common. When the magic girl approached her, she agreed to take her with when she escaped. She was telling Alexis that tonight was the night.

Faith made sure that the other girl knew that she was about to put the plan into motion, and walked over to the door. ”Hey Joe! I need some help! The toilet is overflowing again!!” She called out of the door after she flushed some large, ripped up sheets down it to make sure it doesn‘t flush and won‘t stop filling up. She had been causing minor plumbing problems for the past few weeks to ensure that someone would come when she called.

She poised up in the corner and waited for the guard to rush in to keep her from drowning. When he was right below her, she jumped down and knocked him out cold. She swiped his keys and locked him in the cell. She quickly went to Alexis‘ cell and knocked. ”Hey, Alexis. Its me. Time to go. Remember, we go to the records room and get my file then we bail.” She said as she unlocked the cell door to let the other girl out.

Alexis was in a deep slumber, before she was disturbed by morse code on her wall. She then jumped up out her bed and waited at the door. Her mind was racing, she was finally gonna be free, she would finally get to be who she wanted. She snapped her fingers and her pajamas changed. She was now wears white plaid skinny jeans, a black vest, and a white undershirt. She had on black gloves, and knee high converse.

She heard the guard drop and smiled. As Alexis watched the door open she smiled and walked into the hall way. She walked up to Lycan and gave her a hug and smiled as she whispered in her ear

"We're finally free"

She then waited for the girl to take her to their next location. Alexis tightend her glove as she smirked and then suddenly frowned.

"I know you hear the patrol, they come around in exactly 10.4 seconds"

She then looked at Faith and took her hand.

"Don Sprun Ton"

She whispered as she and faith slowly vanished from sight walking toward the wall and avoiding the guards. She then waited for the guard to come closer and sprung into action. She grabbed the guards wrist and flipped him across the hall. She then came back into sight and jumped onto the other mans neck twirling around her body his head, before slamming him onto the floor.

Faith was a bit surprised when her friend hugged her. She was careful when it came to showing any sort of emotion. She remembered the first time she did, and she was severely punished. So she taught herself to become a stone shell, it was the only way for her to survive in this hell hole. So when she was hugged, it took her a few moments to react. She quickly hugged back and released her.

"We're finally free"

”No, not quite yet. We‘re not free until we leave this horrid place. But you do know that they will come after us? I mean, I can handle myself, but what about you?” She replied as she took the girl‘s hand and began to lead her down the corridor to the records room. They were almost there when her senses picked up a small group of humans slowly approaching.

"I know you hear the patrol, they come around in exactly 10.4 seconds"

Faith nodded her head as she tried to think of what to do next. Before something solid came to her mind, her friend took her hand and performed a spell turning them invisible. Once they had passed, the spell was lifted and Alexis attacked. As her friend took care of half of the group, she took care of the other half quickly. She used her claws and stabbed them in a non-vital bodily area, but still effectively putting them out of commission. All it took was one movement, and was over just as quickly as it happened.

”We have half an hour before the second patrol comes around. Let‘s hurry up and get what we need and then get outta of here.” She said and quickly made the rest of the way to their destination. She extended her claws once more and opened the lock door like a can of sardines. She then entered and began to search for her own file…

Alexis smiled as she stood up from her wild ride and watched Lycan mutilate the men.

”We have half an hour before the second patrol comes around. Let‘s hurry up and get what we need and then get outta of here.”

Were Faiths words as she raced to her destination. Alexis followed as she watched Faith run she sighed. Faith was a true friend unlike most, and she would probably never see her again after this. I mean when they escaped they would have to part ways, for a less chance of them being found. She then smiled and walked into the room Faith entered, moments after her.

Alexis watched Lycan ransack the drawers, and leaned against the shelf. It tipped slightly and a book fell near her foot. She quickly scooped it up and looked at its cover. A sticky note was posted on it that read for Alexis' next training session, a book of magic spells. Alexis nearly jumped out of her skin as she opened the book and smiled.

"Lycan, I think I have the ultimate weapon in my hands, It's a book of magic and its for me to have, hey maybe they have a search and obtain spell in here"

She looked through the table of context and saw the word obtainment spell. She flipped to the page and slowly read the word while squinting as magic was alot harder to read than to pronounce.

"Say the persons name, what your looking for, and the spell"

She read aloud before looking to faith and shrugging.

"Faith Webster, Personal File, Obtanix supreton??"

She said in a questioning way as she didn't think she pronounced it right. Though before she could reread it the drawer glowed and the file began to float into the air infront of Lycan.

"Your welcome" She said happilty as she extended her arm toward the door, and smiled harder.

"After you o' buddy ol' pal"

She said as she waited for Faith to execute the rest of the plan.

Faith was about ready to tear the room to shreds looking for her life when she heard a loud thud behind her. She turned slightly to see her friend Stan dinging a bit shocked over some book. A quick glance told her it was a magic book. She nodded her head to tell Alexis to give it a try. She smiled reassuringly as her friend performed the spell.

”Faith Webster, Personal File, Obtanix supreton??”

Her smile turned genuine when the folder floated in front of her face, and grabbed it. ”Thanks, Alexis. You wanna grab yours as well?” She asked, wondering if the other girl wanted to know what they had on her as well. As she waited on the reply, she knew that the two of them would have to split once they leave. It would be a less chance of them getting caught. However, she will have to tell her friend something before they parted ways.

Once Alexis had made a decision, Faith smiled at her. This next part was a pit tricky, and the two of them would most likely been seen. She approached the door, and extended her claws once again. ”Now comes the hard part.” She said over her shoulder and ventured out into the corridor. ”Stay behind me.” She instructed as the guards and other employees carry weapons with tranquilizers so that any other experimental mutant would be taken down, but they had made her just about indestructible. That stuff will not work on her as her metabolism was way to fast to keep anything in her bloodstream.

It wasn‘t long before they ran into their first road block, and she growled before charging. Three tranquilizer darts stuck out of her torso, and nothing happened. It was enough drugs to bring down a large gorilla. She pounced on the small group of armed guards and took them out quickly and silently. ”One group down, ten more to go.” She whispered to her friend as she pulled out the darts from her skin.

Alexis thought about Lycans question and nodded. Maybe they knew who her parents were, and where she came from.

"Alexis Quest, Personal file, Obtanix supreton"

Her file then floated into her hands and she smiled as she ran after Lycan. She then watched as the men blasted Lycan witth darts and she defeated them quickly. She then watched as Lycan pulled out the darts and spoke.

”One group down, ten more to go.”

Were Lycans words, and Alexis smiled. She then walked infront of Lycan and watched as the guards readied their guns.

"Allow me"

She said fiercely as she extended her hand while walking toward the men. They pulled the trigger but their attack was to no avail.

"Mari Mari Aron ces"

Were Alexis' powerful words as the darts shifted into marshmellows, and the guns transformed into silent bombs.

"Tic Tic boom"

She said sassy like as the bombs blew them to smitherens. She shook her head at the men and nodded at Lycan. She then ran to the corner of the hall and pressed against the wall.

She whispered to Lycan her plan and knew she heard her.

"When I say 3 you run out there and I'll fly behind you creating a force field, when I put it down, give em what cha got, Ok??"

She asked as she knew Lycan was capable, but can sometimes be stubborn. She then thought, they wouldn't just send guards, what if they got some of the subjects to take them out. They would have to be on their A game.

The violence of watching another group of guards being blown to atoms, didn‘t phase Faith in the least. It was Arcane‘s way, but she also knew that if they didn‘t take them out, then they would be taken out. She was their pride and joy. Their near perfect killing machine, and they wouldn‘t let her go that easily. ”Nice, Alexis. Real nice.” She commented as she surveyed the blood smeared walls and floor. She didn‘t let it show that the violence bothered her. It was like she was out in the field after her own kill.

She didn‘t dwell long on the bloody scene, and carefully walked forward toward their exit. Her claws were still extended and knew that the ammunition that the guards use will only become more effective as they get closer to their goal. Only the most trusted and docile experiments were allowed to guard the grounds. They were the most dangerous as they didn‘t have any morals or consciousness. They only obeyed any orders that were given to them by the humans that ran the place.

"When I say 3 you run out there and I'll fly behind you creating a force field, when I put it down, give em what cha got, Ok??"

Faith nodded her head in an answer and smirked as she knew in less than half the time it took them to figure out who it was, they will be down on the floor facing their maker. She waited for her friend‘s cue and the two of them worked together to effectively put this group into the ground. They didn‘t know what was coming. ”Now it only gets harder and worse. Much worse. Now they use bullets instead of darts. Then once we reach the outside, we have to get by the docile, dangerous mutants.” She told Arcane.

She then turned and started to lead the way once more. The next group, Lycan took care of rather effectively with her claws. She knew it would be a blood bath when she escaped, but the thought of being free of this place was the only thing that kept her going. That and that Alexis was counting on her to get them outta of there in one piece. She had a feeling that the two of them were more than cell block mates, but she didn‘t know how.

Alexis and Faith made their way to the next group Faith took them down. Alexis took Faiths warning to heart and got her game face on. She shut her eyes tightly and began repeating a chant in her head.

"This is just another training session"

She told herself as she opened her eyes and ran next to Faith to the next group of victims. She looked out them aggravated, and they opened fire. The bullets bounced off her magic barrier and she smiled.

"Aras tu neferti"

Was her magical chant as a brillant beam of light blue energy erupted from her pam. The beam covered the entire hallway, and when it disappeared the walls were scorched and all that lay on the floor were the bones of her enemies. She flinched at the sign of her own power, this book unleashed something in her. Some raw power that she'd never felt in all her training.

"Sorry"

She said as she landed from her flight and looked at Faith a little sad. She hated being here and they were gonna escape. She then walked toward the next hall way and a blast of energy cut her off. She jumped back, and the explosion knocked her toward Faith.

"Plasma cannons!!"

She yelled as she picked up her book and stood up. She dusted herself off and went through the table of contents and looked for a spell to take them out.

"Uh energy expansion?? no, Energy breathing?? no, Ahh here we go energy disruption, uhhhhhhh oh no, Faith, I uh can't read that. We are so gonna die."

She said aloud as she thought of something she could do.

Faith looked a bit worried at her friend when she managed to burn everything in their path. She thought she knew all that Alexis could do, but this display of power was something that she had not seen before. Not even in their training sessions. When her friend apologized, she only shook her head to tell her that now was not the time for that. ”That is what they are training you to do eventually, Alexis.” She told her friend, and she had already reached her highest level in all the areas they were training her to do.

They continued along their way, and Faith heard the trigger mechanism click just before her friend was knocked her way. She didn‘t have any time to stop the girl, but she managed to keep her on her feet. She felt the explosion and smelled the air as she identified the weapon. Plasma cannons. They couldn’t take her down, but they would definitely slow her down for a few moments.

"Uh energy expansion?? no, Energy breathing?? no, Ahh here we go energy disruption, uhhhhhhh oh no, Faith, I uh can't read that. We are so gonna die."

Faith listened as Alexis went through her new found book for a spell, and a plan formed in her mind. She closed her eyes when her friend announced that they were going to die. ’This is only training… This is only training… This is only training…’ She continued to repeat the mantra in her head. ”No we are not. I did not come this far to be taken down now.” She told her and extended her claws once again. ”Stay behind me, and stay close.” She instructed and charged into the room with the cannons.

She managed to dodge two shots, and took the third directly in the chest. She staggered for a split second, and then jumped like a wild, cornered animal. She destroyed their weapons, and then assassinated them before something else happened. She looked around her and held her arm across her chest while she waited for herself to heal. ”We‘re almost there. Just a few more…” She announced breathlessly.

Alexis floated behind Faith and watched as she took out her enemies. She then looked up and saw more guards coming armed with rocket launchers.

"We don't have time for your bull!!"

She said as she put a shield up around the guards and they fired blowing themselves up. She frowned and moved into the next hall where the guards, weren't guards. They were expirements just like her and Faith and they weren't the highest level expirement guards. They were a moderate problem.

One of the mutants looked to faith and his hand began to glow as the walls began to shift. He then looked to faith and fired a metal repelling field.

"He's a metal manipualtor Faith,be careful!!"

She said as she attempted to fly at him but was cut of by a wave of sonic blast that knocke her into the wall. The metal mainulator began to attempt to rip Faiths bones out and Arcane shed a tear. They might lose this fight, and it barely started. She then shut her eyes and opened them. When she opened them the were jet black, and she was floating calmly dispite the sonic blast.

"Admateis Adraxtic!!!!"

Was her enchantment as the manshand began to disentergrate slowly. He screamed and dropped his hold on Faith. Alexis' veins around her eyes then began to show up black in her skin, and her hair began to shift to a darker color. She then looked to the sound manipulating girl and scowled.

"Aran yer Atris"

Was her second enchantment as the girl spontaniously combusted. She flailed in horror as her flesh slowly burned. Alexis looked to Faith to finish them off while she composed herself, and her eyes turned back to normal.

"Woah"
She stated as she held her head and took a deep breath. This book gave her incradible power, and she was afraid she couldn't control it.

Faith was a bit more than concerned at Alexis‘ display of power during her last few attacks. She wondered what was going on with that book. She closed her eyes to push that emotion and all thoughts connected to it into that place she created for her work and training. They needed to get out of here first, and then she can let them loose in her mind. It wasn‘t long before the two of them ran into two lower level three mutants like them. The male took one look at her and seemed to smirk. He lifted his hand and forced it to glow at her. Her senses told her something wasn‘t right…

"He's a metal manipualtor Faith,be careful!!"

Just as her friend shouted a warning, he blasted something her way. She jumped quite easily out of the way and landed as soon as the field passed. ”You idiot. I‘m the best at what I do, and what I do isn‘t very nice.” She taunted and extended her claws once again. Before she can return the attack, Arcane gave her own attack. She watched as her friend‘s appearance turned dark, and the hand who was attempting to tear her to shreds began to slowly disappear.

She even watched as Alexis set the second mutant on fire. Faith was just about at her blood bath limit, and decided to show them some mercy. She quickly decapitated them and looked to her friend. ”Are you alright?” She asked after sheathing her claws back into her forearms, and placing her hands on her friend‘s shoulders making the girl turn to face her.

Alexis watched as Lycan went into a frenzy and sliced everything apart. She kinda flinched as she saw like standing there and dripping in blood.

"Incredible"

She thought to herself as she slowly flew over to Lycan and flew over her shoulder for a second. She extended her hand to touch her shoulder but slowly, and unsurely pulled it away. Sometimes Faith scared her, no mater how much she tried to hide it. She then slowly landed and looked to Faith.

"We should get going"

She said calmly as she began to walk to the door to get out of the large courtyard. She then walked to the door and extended her hand and it began to glow a faint white color. In a zap of energy The lock was broken and she was walking out the dooor.

Faith nodded her head in answer, but still worried. She didn‘t think that what just happened didn‘t have anything to do with composure. Something was happening, and she hoped that her friend can handle it. She gathered Alexis into an awkward hug that said that she wasn‘t good at that gesture, but she would know that Faith had meant it. She released her friend and turned to take point for the rest of the way.

They could clearly see the door from where they stood, and her senses told her that the route there was clear. However, it was not on the other side. She sniffed the air and knew it was more experimental mutants waiting for them to come out. She was only getting angrier by the second as they thought they can take her down. She silently growled under her breath as they got closer to the door.

"Lets do this"

Faith only nodded her head in answer as she didn‘t quite trust herself to talk and not say something she would regret later. She then extended her claws once more, and let out an animalistic howl before slicing through the door and face the mutants on the other side. She crouched down like some kind of animal and howled once again, and then effectively attacking them and taking them down. It was all over in less than a minute, and she stood in the middle of the bloody mess with blood dripping off her claws. She was breathing heavily, and her shoulders heaved with each in and out. A quick glance would tell that she was not herself, and to be careful upon approach. It was like she WAS a wild animal.

Alexis couldn't help but wince at the site of her firneds power. She had gone crazy, but she was still the same old Faith to her. She glided over to Faith flying over her shoulder for a few seconds before slowly landing. She then extended her hand to touch Faiths shoulder but thought about this and slowly pulled her hand away. She then looked over to the gate and looked regretful.

She thought to herself and began to feel sorta bad. She realized that this whole escape had brought some bad things on to them, Faith's rage, her new book, it was all to much. Alexis almost slipped up to share her emotions but held her tongue and just walked to the door.

Alexis extended her hand and it began to glow an eerie white glow, and released a tiny zap of lightning like energy bursting the lock. She then opened the door and saw more enemies out the door, she could tell they were almost free as the numbers were growing.

"This'll be fun, Faith get the right i'll get the left"

She instructed as she flew into the air and charged to the left. Alexis reached toward the crowd and the ground began to rumble. Te earth began to extend arms and whips and smacked the others expirements to and fro. UNtil there was noone in her way.

Faith could hear her surroundings very well. Her senses where heightened more than normal, and she could hear all the heartbeats of every living thing near her. Even Alexis‘. She could feel the air become disturbed when her friend flew over her shoulder. Some small part of her that wasn‘t in this animalistic state knew that the person was a friend, and didn‘t seem to be offended by them.

She turned to face the next area of their escape to only sense that there was a large number of experimental mutants on the other side of the door. She felt that she could take them all down, and if they killed her she would take them all with her. With her claws still extended, she began to run toward the group. It was the last one they would face for a while, and when they are taken care of they would be free.

They would be free until they send others after them. And the group would be larger than what they are facing now. Faith sniffed the air and could smell the fear that the other experiments radiated. They would be right to fear her, and she thought that she sensed fear from Alexis as well. She didn‘t blame the other girl, as she was even scaring herself at that point as well. She didn‘t know she could get to this stage, or how long she would stay there.

"This'll be fun, Faith get the right i'll get the left"

She didn‘t even wait for Arcane‘s instruction, as she had already gone through the steel wall. She was right in the middle of their group, and they began to surround her. She crouched down into an attack position and then attacked the nearest mutant to her. He had gone down like a rock, and she swung to the next. If an outsider had seen this fight, it would be like a beautifully choreographed fight. But it was only Lycan‘s own training an abilities at work. It seemed that the fighting would go on forever, but it lasted only for five minutes. When the fight was over, Lycan was back into a crouched position ready for another attack.
